While the Northern Hemisphere wanders the depths of winter we bring Juan Farcik's rhythmic study of dark and light, his Cebra mini-album. Representing the minimal & electronica edge of Buenos Aires, Juan Farcik previously released on eclectic labels including Montreal's Archipel and Italy's Ukiyo. As the sixth release on Rhizome Forms, Cebra emphasizes the label's taste for minimal yet with an experimental edge typical of masters of analog hardware.

1.Desdoblados
The release begins on a heightened frequency level. Careful drum programming and cascading textures create space for Juan Farcik's signature synth work. Melody and harmony act upon free jazz instincts as a heady groove swings forward.

2.Partir
Partir's emotive melody establishes itself as one of the most memorable of the release. Precision drum work ensures that the track maintains a techy edge while the bass delights anyone still on their feet at sunrise.

3.Sud trip
An exercise in synth work, Sud trip starts with soft hints of bubbling sound. Next the light breaks in with an imaginative narrative arcing above a congregation of ambling drums. Further along, the track relaxes into a contemplative mood.

4.Orion
A funky groove leads on Orion. Calm synth notes gently elevate the second half alongside syncopated drums. Even a bit of acid has found its way in.

5. Son
The final track acts as an unhinged celebration of minimal's ability to swing and surprise. The vivid drums are joined by a jazzy vocal, adding a festive atmosphere. Son continues to expand into a flurry of sonic textures until the groove drives us home.
