about

Mysterious duo Mycelium Mustard seem familiar … or is that their sound-spores taking over our senses?

Little is known of where the dose came from, but Mycelium Mustard’s combo of break-beat, minimal, and heady electro jazz bring playfulness and agility to the duo’s productions. Mycelium Mustard’s mini-album on Rhizome Forms marks their first release, well-timed for warmer weather ahead and blooming botanics.

Biscuit Foreva
The EP begins with serene & uplifting electro coupled with synths providing emotive flourishes on top of the breakbeat. “Biscuit Foreva” seems to gradually drift inward, reflecting a nostalgia experienced as a gentle sun rises after a quality night.

Canteen In A Shaggy Dark Vessel
The breakbeat mood continues, including jazzy refrains via a calm sax. This canteen is full of warmth as the track oozes with the swagger of a classy chill out session.

Iguana Adada
Here’s the 4x4 groover rippin through the swamp. A brief breakdown creates space to resurrect the track’s burly bass cleverly accompanied by a constellation of techy effects. The atmosphere kicked up is indisputably otherworldly, must’ve been a portal somewhere in the swamp.

Sly Cooper
Next up is the spacey “Sly Cooper” with synth solos and its committed drums. Influences from classic techno abound though suited to Mycelium Mustard’s laidback touch.

Zag Mein
The final track on the EP “Zaig Mein” brings Dose The Swamp to a sweet ending. The bliss of the conclusion to this trip feels like it should never stop, let's just float here for a while. Even the bass doesn’t want the dose to wear off...
